![]() MEMBERSHIP |
PSSG members belong to one of six categories, which reflect registry participation, data quality, and productivity. These categories are designed to be both inclusive and to the benefit of our membership. Membership categories are dynamic and can change from year to year depending on participation. Membership is reviewed on an annual basis and members receive notification about their membership category in the fourth quarter. All new members start as Candidate members and follow the flow below.
Candidate: New investigators with interest in becoming study group members are encouraged. To become a Candidate member, investigators must be nominated by 1 Principal member or provide evidence of interest in the area of EOS, such as participation in associated societies or presentation/publication in EOS. Following IRB approval, new members will begin a trial period of 24 months. They may be invited to select events during this trial period, depending on level of research and registry involvement.
PSSG Researcher: Members who contribute substantially to research as PI on an active study and/or lead a Research Interest Group, contribute a minimum of 4 patients/year to the registry, and maintain a 3-star data quality score are considered Principal Researchers. Principal Researchers can also be those who bring unique expertise to the group (i.e. pulmonary, infection, leadership, etc.).
PSF General: Members who do not contribute to research or the registry on a consistent basis. General members will be invited to open research and educational meetings hosted by the Study Group.
Principal/Leadership: Members who maintain PSSG Researcher status and are actively involved in Study Group Leadership.
Allied Health: Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Non-Clinicians, PhD, Orthotist, etc.
Emeritus: Senior Principal members may move to Emeritus status upon age 65+ and 10+ years of PSSG membership. Emeritus members may be as involved in the Foundation as they choose to be.
